日本の演劇人に扉を開く　エレン・スチュワートさんをしのんで

　日本の現代演劇をいち早くアメリカ演劇界へ紹介し、世界の実験演劇の母と呼ばれた、ニューヨークのラ・ママ実験劇場の創立者であり、芸術監督であったエレン・スチュワートが、今年1月13日、91歳で亡くなった。その日、ニューヨークの演劇界は深い悲しみに包まれ、「母」エレンの死に深い哀悼の意を示した。
